Spectacular New Year Celebrations in Banja Luka

Once again, Banja Luka is gearing up for a spectacular celebration of the New Year, an event that consistently exceeds the expectations of both tourists and the local population year after year. This city, rich in cultural heritage, friendly people, and breathtaking landscapes, becomes the epicenter of entertainment, celebrations, festivities, and a gathering of people from different parts of the country and the world during the New Year’s holidays.

Banja Luka takes pride in its hospitality, which becomes particularly evident during the New Year celebrations. In addition to these offerings, the city organizes the New Year’s Eve celebration outdoors every year, along with many other events as part of the Banja Luka Winter Festival. The New Year’s Eve celebration traditionally takes place in the central square, but this year, due to ongoing construction work on the Palas Hotel and the reconstruction of streets in the city center, the central New Year’s celebration will be at the new square near the sports arena, located by Mladen Stojanović Park.

The city administration, in collaboration with civil engineers, believes that the city center is not safe for organizing events due to the construction site at the Palas Hotel, which is estimated to attract tens of thousands of people. For safety reasons, the celebration will be held at the new square near the sports arena.

Mladen Stojanović Park will also be specially decorated, and a winter park called “Zimzopark” will be arranged within it. This winter park will offer visitors a variety of content, attractions, activities, and entertainment. Zimzopark will be designed to accommodate visitors of all age groups, all as part of the holiday celebration. The entire event is called Zimzobal. For the New Year’s Eve celebration, the city has organized concerts featuring two prominent regional music stars. Željko Samardžić will entertain the audience on New Year’s Eve, while a concert by Lepa Brena is scheduled for the first day of the New Year.

What is certain is that the concerts by these two big music stars will attract a large number of visitors and tourists from various countries in the region and beyond. In addition to the traditional New Year’s celebration, visitors to our city can enjoy various other events and traditional activities, such as the New Year’s celebration at the Youth Center, Children’s New Year, the solemn celebration of Christmas Eve, and many others.
